Multifunction Desktop Unveiled

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- A multiuser multifunction desktop computer system has been unveiled here by Microtech Business Systems, Inc.

The M1 Series Desktop Computer is designed for first-time users, according to the vendor.  Capable of handling up to five users, the M1 Series reportedly features a high-speed 16-bit microprocessor with 128K bytes of random-access memory.  It is presently available in three models:  the M1/10, M1/34 and the M1/68, with 10M bytes, 34M bytes and 68M bytes of Winchester disk storage capacity, respectively.

All models include a 20M-byte, 1/4-in. streaming tape drive, the Iris or Bits operating system and five serial ports.  Pricing starts at $12,000.  Microtech is based at 3180 Pullman St, Costa Mesa, Calif. 92626.
